WASHINGTON – One NATO soldier was killed and five others injured when a suicide bomber hit their patrol near Kabul, Resolute Support officials said Thursday.

The patrol was working in Qarabagh District, Kabul Province with Afghan National Army forces when they were hit Thursday evening local time, Resolute support said.

An interpreter was also injured.

Resolute Support did not provide further details on the extent of the injuries or the nationalities of those injured.

Thursday’s attack follows a similar attack on a convoy in Kandahar that killed 2 U.S. soldiers.

The Associated Press reported that family members identified the two killed as 82nd Airborne Division soldiers Sgt. Jonathon Michael Hunter, 23, and Spc. Chris Harris, 25. Both were stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
