The record-setting Naval Academy quarterback was selected in the sixth round, 182nd overall, by the Baltimore Ravens, whose Owings Mills, Maryland, training facility is roughly 45 minutes from his Annapolis dorm room.Keenan Reynolds won't have to go far to embark on his NFL career.
Reynolds racked up a Division I record of 88 touchdowns (including seven in one game) during his college career and rushed for 4,559 yards, a record for FBS quarterbacks.
After starring in Navy's triple-option scheme, Reynolds will be converted to running back or a slot receiver. The 5-11, 205-pounder could also return kicks.
"I've always been a person of self-confidence in my abilities," Reynolds, the only Navy quarterback to go 4-0 against Army, told USA Today in February.
But unlike many of his football peers, the NFL remains a backup plan for Reynolds, who will graduate in May before eventually reporting to Fort Gordon, Georgia.
"Service is my priority," he said. "Service is why I came to the Naval Academy."
