Fall 2014 petty officer lists released

The fall advancement cycle offered great news for those looking to put on a petty officer crow or another chevron: the advancement rate rose by 4 percentage points.

Overall, eligible sailors had a 27.6 percent chance of being promoted, up from 23.4 percent this spring.

Commands notified sailors Friday, after a glitch that updated some sailor's records with their results.

"I'm so happy someone messed up," one reader commented on Navy Times' Facebook page. "Made my weekend!!!"

The public release of the advancement results was rescheduled for Monday.
