VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Police have arrested and charged a Navy seaman in the death of a Virginia Beach teen who was shot on Tuesday.
According to police, 18-year-old Aleigha Michelle Hawkinberry, of Virginia Beach, was shot and killed at 9:52 p.m.
Alec Spencer Wagner, 22, of Chesapeake, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless handling of a firearm.
He is being held in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.
Details of this investigation will not be released as to maintain the integrity of the investigation and subsequent judicial process.
