A Navy corpsman stationed at Camp Pendleton, California, was found shot to death inside her apartment Friday afternoon, Oceanside police confirmed.
Hospitalman Third Class Devon Rideout, 24, was discovered at about 4 p.m. inside her Oceanside residence with multiple gunshot wounds, NBC San Diego reported. Attempts were made by paramedics to revive her but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Oceanside Police arrested 25-year-old Eduardo Arriola early Saturday morning on suspicion of Rideout’s murder.
The suspect is a resident in the same apartment complex, the report said, but there is no known connection between the two. Arriola lived in the apartment directly upstairs from Rideout.
No motive was immediately known, the report said, and the investigation is ongoing.
