Dozens of patrons at Busch Gardens Williamsburg were taken on a very unusual roller coaster ride Friday night thanks to an unruly Navy man wearing only his birthday suit.
Adrian Gilbert Cardenas, a 21-year-old sailor from the aircraft carrier George H.W. Bush, turned the family-friendly Virginia amusement park into a combination of “Magic Mike” and “Fight Club” after he reportedly stripped naked and went on a booze and drug-fueled run outside the park’s gates, News 3 reported.
Cardenas was spotted by theme park visitors running nude through the parking lot, allegedly attempting to break into parked cars — some occupied — before stopping only when he found himself encircled by bewildered onlookers, reports said.
As a responding police officer approached the scene, Cardenas allegedly began fighting the surrounding spectators before making a break for au naturel freedom and a few more motivated wind sprints.
But the belligerent sailor didn’t get far before the officer reportedly tased him. And with the help of a few bystanders, the officer took him into custody.
Cardenas was first transported to a local hospital “because he was intoxicated by alcohol and illegal narcotics,” Steve Rubino, James City County deputy chief, told the Virginia Gazette.
The Norfolk-based sailor has been charged with felony assault of an officer, indecent exposure, intentional damage and obstruction of justice.
He is reportedly out on bond.
