NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A Navy mechanic who last lived in Groton, Connecticut, pleaded guilty Monday to child pornography production offenses stemming from his sexual abuse of seven young girls in Connecticut, New Hampshire and California over several years.
Randall Tilton, 31, who waived his right to be indicted, pleaded guilty before a federal judge in New Haven to seven counts of child pornography production, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Connecticut. He is scheduled to be sentenced March 1, when federal prosecutors plan to argue for a 210-year prison sentence.

Tilton was employed as a forward auxiliary mechanic in the Navy when he was arrested on state charges on Nov. 1, 2019, after admitting to Groton police that he had sexually assaulted several minors and recorded some of the assaults.
After examining his seized laptop, tablet, cellphone and two flash drives, police determined Tilton began assaulting seven girls ranging in age from 4 months to 8 years in 2004. Federal authorities said Tilton distributed some images and videos of the assaults on the dark web.
